A caregiver helping an older man at home

Personal care helps your loved one feel clean, comfortable and confident.

Our caregivers help with bathing, dressing and the rest of the daily routine, always with privacy and respect.

Personal care is hands-on help with the most private parts of the day.

As people get older, everyday routines like showering or getting dressed can become tiring or even unsafe. A slip in the shower or a fall while getting out of bed is one of the most common reasons an older adult ends up in the hospital.

Personal care means a trained caregiver is there for those moments. Your loved one stays in charge of their own routine, and the caregiver helps only where help is needed, so they keep as much independence as possible.

What personal care can include.

During your free home visit, we build a care plan around only the tasks your loved one needs help with.

  • Bathing and showering
  • Grooming and hair care
  • Getting dressed
  • Help using the bathroom
  • Morning and bedtime routines
  • Help walking and moving around
  • Help preventing falls
  • Medication reminders

Personal care is a good fit in these situations.

Your loved one is unsteady in the bathroom.

A caregiver stays close during showers and toileting, so your loved one is not alone at the riskiest moments of the day.

Getting ready takes longer than it used to.

We help with buttons, shoes, hair and shaving, so mornings start calmly instead of in a rush.

You are doing the bathing yourself.

Many adult children help a parent bathe. A caregiver can take this over, which is often more comfortable for everyone.

Rolocare provides non-medical care only. Our caregivers do not perform nursing tasks such as injections or wound care.

Families choose Rolocare for four reasons.

Our caregivers are screened and trained.

Every caregiver is on the California Home Care Aide registry, clears a fingerprint background check, has a negative TB test and finishes our training.

Our caregivers are always rested.

No caregiver works more than 8 hours in a row, so the person with your loved one is alert and at their best.

Your care plan fits your family.

You only pay for the help your loved one needs, and you can change the schedule any time.

A real person answers your call.

You talk to our own local team, not a call center.

Families often ask us these questions.

Will the same caregiver come each time?

We match your loved one with a caregiver who fits their needs, schedule and personality, and we aim to keep that match consistent so your loved one is comfortable with the person helping them.

Do your caregivers give medication?

No. Rolocare provides non-medical care only. Caregivers can remind your loved one to take medication on time, but they do not give injections or do wound care.

How many hours of personal care do we need?

That depends on your loved one. During your free home visit we look at the daily routine together and suggest a schedule. You can change it any time.

We provide personal care across six Southern California counties: Los Angeles County, Orange County, San Bernardino County, Riverside County, San Diego County, Ventura County. If your city is not listed, please call us.
